Vessel of 4 500 tons chartered for soil export at Lorient port

Soil export

As part of the rehabilitation works on the Lorient railway station, a ship with a capacity of 4,500 tons was chartered in order to transport the excavated soil to a treatment center in Gironde. Then soil will be upgraded in the construction industry.

The evacuation by sea is an efficient alternative to road transport, initially planned, and highly emitting CO2. This first export, carried out by the "Agence Maritime Lorientaise" on the Port of Commerce of Lorient, is a real success: we hope this kind of traffic will develop.
